Matt Mansel pitched well, but his team, the Calgary Kodiaks, still dropped a 4-0 decision to the Peoria Caterpillars at Excavatar Park. Joey Lizotte snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Matt Mansel suffered the loss. With the victory, the Caterpillars upped their record to 63-54.

Andy LeBaron had a big 2-run double for the Caterpillars in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Peoria leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a splitter from Matt Mansel and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Caterpillars ahead, 4-0.

LeBaron attributed the win to his team's "determination."
