The Albuquerque Cacti stifled the Fairfield Flash, 6-2, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Ricardo Nieves, who is tied for 5th in the RAAA in triples with 5, had his hitting cap on. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Albuquerque. Justin Hiscock got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. With the win, the Cacti hiked their record to 63-35.

With Albuquerque trailing 1-0 in the top of the second, Nieves hit a curveball from Gary McPherson for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Cacti ahead, 3-1.

"I like the makeup of this team," said Cacti manager Randy Haynes.
