Good production from shortstop Tony Greene helped the Minneapolis Freeze topple the Albany Firebirds, 8-6. Greene was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Freeze. With the victory, the Freeze upped their record to 54-44.

Tom Shannon took Albany hurler Bill Oestreich deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 3-run home run put the Freeze on top, 7-4. In all, Shannon had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Greene told the Minneapolis Times.
