Victory Over Death Stars Takes Minneapolis to 76-36
Minneapolis pitcher Hector Martinez did his part in helping his team beat the Detroit Death Stars, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Pete DeCaprio sewed up the save, his 8th. Minneapolis leads the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division by 7½ games.

Minneapolis took a 5-3 lead on Ricky Montanez's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Montanez hit in the top of the ninth, left Detroit pitcher Kyle Gamber shaking his head.

Montanez attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
