Madison got a decent performance from pitcher Mike Ming, but it wasn't enough to beat the Peoria Caterpillars. Peoria won the Excavatar Park contest, 4-0. Ming threw 7.2 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. Eric Jerome snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Mike Ming suffered the loss. The win gives Peoria a season record of 59-53.

Ben Petrich drove in one run for Peoria. The 27-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Mike Ming. It was his 47th RBI of the season.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Petrich told the Peoria Herald. "Whatever it takes."
