In a close game at Edgbaston, the Thunder Bay Black Bears edged the Fairfield Flash, 3-2. Thunder Bay right fielder Danny Torres stood apart with his performance. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Josh McCloud earned the win. Tony Oliva took the loss for Fairfield. Thunder Bay goes to 60-35. The win puts them 5½ games up in their division.

The Black Bears got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Tim Morgan. For the game, Morgan went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Thunder Bay a 3-2 lead.
