The Houghton Gremlins withstood a good performance by Manhattan first baseman Frank Moreno to knock off Manhattan, 8-7, in 10 innings. Moreno was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win went to Chris Wethington in relief, making him now 1-2. Paul Blevins took the loss for Manhattan. The win gives the Gremlins a record of 7-17.

The decisive blow was delivered by Carlos Casillas in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Paul Blevins to win the game for Houghton. The home crowd went nuts.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Casillas said in his postgame press conference.
