The Thunder Bay Black Bears downed the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 6-2, at Stars Field. Benny Brisson led the way, going 3-for-4 for Thunder Bay. Graeme Charge got the win, improving to 7-6. He held the Aeropostales to 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 5. The win puts the Black Bears at 39-69, while the Aeropostales drop to 61-48.
One consequential at-bat came in the top of the first. With the bases loaded, the batter, Taylor Ellis, hit a 2-run single. It made the score 2-0, Thunder Bay, and helped them go on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Thunder Bay manager Norm Cobb.
