Argonauts Lose to Raiders in Walk Off
|
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Danny Frampton, the Astoria Argonauts suffered a 6-5 loss to the Reno Raiders. Frampton was 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. The win was Sergio Aguilar's in relief. His record improves to 7-10. Henry Nevarez took the loss for Astoria. Reno's record now stands at 41-70, placing them 5th in the TMLAAA Joe Torre Division.
One of the biggest contributors for Reno was second baseman Carlos Ballesteros. In the bottom of the 11th, with the bases empty, Ballesteros got a 1-1 fastball and hit a walk-off solo home run. That put the Raiders on top, 6-5.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Ballesteros said.
