The Fort Worth Cats defeated the Albuquerque Cacti, 12-9, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Dave Allred was a standout performer for Fort Worth. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 3 he knocked in. Fort Worth reliever Jeff Dempsey was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Humberto Diaz. Fort Worth is now 52-57, Albuquerque 57-55.

In the top of the seventh, the Cats grabbed the lead when Allred hit his 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double off Curt Hall Jr. made it 10-9, Fort Worth.
