Texans Take 11-2 Pounding
|
The Walnut Creek Warriors met little resistance from the Dallas Texans, beating them, 11-2, at Castlerock Field. Dylan Sullivan led the way. He was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for Walnut Creek. Marcel Antoine was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. With the win, Walnut Creek boosts its record to 12-11.
Felipe Navarro had a big 2-run double for the Warriors in the bottom of the first inning. With Walnut Creek trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Trevor Bowe, the 7th overall pick in the 2056 draft, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Warriors ahead, 2-1.
Dallas manager Gary Stoy called the blowout loss "ugly."
