Gonzales Shines in 5-2 Billings Win
The Billings Mustangs stymied the Calgary Kodiaks, 5-2, at Cobb Field. Benito Gonzales had a good day at the plate. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Billings. Gene Martin picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-6. He struck out 7 in 8 innings. Victor Gonzalez earned the save for Billings.

Gonzales had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Danny Gifford, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Mustangs a 3-2 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Gonzales.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Gonzales.

Billings occupies last place in the TML AAA Cito Gaston League at 32-60.
