The Vancouver Canadians topped the Bowling Green Racers, 2-1, in RCL AAA action at Top of the Hill. The player of the game was Vancouver pitcher Dave Francisco. The winning pitcher was Francisco, now 11-8. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. The save went to Raul Parada, his 1st this season.
Vancouver first baseman Junnosuke Hida laid a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the top of the first. It was his 3rd home run of the season. With it, the Canadians took a 2-0 lead.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Francisco said (again).
At 47-59, Vancouver is in 4th place in the RCL AAA Bobby Cox Division.
