Captains Rally For Late Win Over Fireballs
The Tallahassee Captains and Joplin Fireballs completed their game despite the rain.

The Tallahassee Captains dealt the Joplin Fireballs a 6-4 loss at The Firepit. Griffin Matte was the star on offense. He was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Chris Bagley collected save number 3.

Matte had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-0 cutter from Bill LaForge, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Captains a 6-4 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Matte.

Tallahassee manager Luis Sánchez commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."

With the win, the Captains improved to 36-55.
