The rain did not keep Fairfield and Waimea from finishing their game.

The Fairfield Flash topped the Waimea Wind, 11-4, with youngster Jonas Mendez playing a key role. Mendez hit 2 home runs for the Flash in the win. Tom Gaston wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.

Fairfield used the hitting of Jonah Burke to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Flash on top, 5-0. For the game, Burke had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Burke told the Fairfield Chronicle.

The Flash go to 54-38, putting them second in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division.
