Multi-HR Game for Bell in 7-5 Win
|
Astoria and Candiac duked it out at Municipal Stadium and the Argonauts came out victorious.
Jason Bell helped his team muscle past the Candiac Redbirds, 7-5. In the game, the Astoria first baseman went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Astoria starter Antonio Sanchez was credited with the win after throwing 64 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 9-4.
Adam Ashton gave Astoria a good at-bat in the top of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single to help send Astoria to the win.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Ashton.
Astoria's record now stands at 52-55, placing them 5th in the TMLAAA Cito Gaston League.
