Barber Lifts Redbirds to 6-4 Win
|
David Barber left his imprint on the 6-4 Candiac win against the Antioch Coal Miners. Barber went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Candiac reliever Brian Mullins picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Kunikazu Lookingbill absorbed the loss. Even with the win, the Redbirds have a dismal 29-76 record.
Manuel Marquez aided the Candiac cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop went 1-1, while adding 2 RBI.
Barber told the Candiac News: "I was born for the big stage."
