Gremlins Toast Sasquatch, 11-1

The Houghton Gremlins scored a convincing win at Sasquatch Field at Brewbaker Family Memorial Stadium, defeating the Seattle Sasquatch, 11-1. One of the hitting stars was 19-year old second baseman Leo Galdamez who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Trace Yeadon, who finished 5th in the RCL in strikeouts with 314 in 2056, was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was Andrew Shackleton. Brian Douglas earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Edwin Montes was 2-3 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for Houghton. The 30-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Andrew Shackleton. It was his 4th hit of the season.
Seattle manager Alim bin Umar called the blowout loss "not what we had in mind."
The loss puts Seattle at 2-1.
