Outlaws Lose Again, 2-0, to Sphinx
|
Cairo starter Torikatzu Nishiyama pitched effectively against the Baton Rouge Outlaws at Coca Cola Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 2-0 win. Cairo reliever Torikatzu Nishiyama got the win, raising his record to 9-4. Andy Ludewig was tagged with the loss. The Outlaws, at 44-60, have lost 7 straight games.
Bobby Savoy went 1-3 for Cairo. With one out and the game tied in the top of the fourth inning, Savoy, who is tied for 2nd in the RAAA in total bases with 244, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Baton Rouge hurler Naizen Uchiyama, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Sphinx a 1-0 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Cairo skipper Germán Tovar.
