Riding the 4-hit performance of the 28-year old second baseman Micah Goodwin, the Kansas City Tornadoes defeated the El Paso Mavericks, 8-1. Monty Brewster got the win, improving to 4-1. He held the Mavericks to 1 run on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The loss drops El Paso to 17-11.

Early in the game, designated hitter Roberto Navarro had a 2-run home run for Kansas City. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Tornadoes on top, 2-0.
