Jesus Giron never let Waimea get something going. The Bowling Green right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Racers to a 2-1 win. Bowling Green is 52-52 and Waimea, with the loss, 57-47.

The Racers got a big at-bat from left fielder Sam Young. For the game, Young went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Bowling Green a 2-1 lead.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Giron told reporters after the game.
