The Calgary Kodiaks firmly defeated the Billings Mustangs, 14-4, at Cobb Field. The Calgary offense was lit. Ron Gerlt, for one, had a solid game. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 6 for the Kodiaks. The last-place Mustangs dropped to 38-63.

In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, Gerlt came to the plate. He drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Zbynek Petruzalek to put the Kodiaks in the lead, 4-3.

Calgary manager Stanley Harvey commended his team for "putting the hammer down."
