Freeze Fall, 11-7, to Joplin
Edwin Cuevas added some punch to the Joplin offense, helping them outmuscle the Minneapolis Freeze, 11-7. In the game, Cuevas, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2057 draft, was 4 for 4 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Matt Schaller earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 4-1. The last-place Fireballs hiked their record to 47-55.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Victor Navedo came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Minneapolis pitcher Matthew Otto, he hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Joplin on top, 8-7.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Joplin manager Daniel Petro.
