The Fort Worth Cats beat the Bowling Green Racers, 9-1, at Top of the Hill. Starting pitcher Steve Thomas was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The win makes Fort Worth 45-54.

Thomas was effective against the Racers, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Bowling Green to just 1 run on 2 hits over 8.2 innings.

"Steve set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Fort Worth manager Dudha Goli.
