Reno Raiders starter John Tait kept the Bowling Green Racers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Reno reliever Aaron Price was credited with the win. His record goes to 5-2. Joe Okocha took the loss for Bowling Green. The first-place Raiders improved to 50-35.

Reno took a 3-2 lead on Phil Peters's 19th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Peters hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Bowling Green pitcher Joe Okocha visibly frustrated.

"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Reno skipper Maziba Ewansiha.
