Cacti Win, 5-1, in Extra Frames
|
The Thunder Bay Black Bears got a whale of a performance from pitcher Adam Rockwell, but the Albuquerque Cacti still prevailed, 5-1, in 10 innings. Rockwell threw 9.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Albuquerque reliever Jaheem Williams picked up the win. Josh Burdette took the loss for Thunder Bay. At 50-51, the Cacti claim third place in the RCL AAA Bobby Cox Division.
Albuquerque used the timely hitting of Perry Frazer to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Cacti on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"This game showed the grit and grind of our guys," said Frazer.
