Freeze Walk Off with 3-2 Win
|
The Freeze grabbed a win, 3-2, at The Ice Box, overcoming a fine effort from Fairfield pitcher Héctor Bello. Bello went 7.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. The first-place Freeze have won 6 in a row.
Late in the game, second baseman Dave Dimond had a big at-bat for Minneapolis. In the bottom of the ninth, he hit a 3-run home run off Owen Kay. The play gave the Freeze a 3-2 lead.
Dimond said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
