Bumblebees Come Back Late to Clip Freeze
|
Both offenses were relatively subdued at The Hole. Fortunately for the Pasadena Bumblebees, though, Mike Levine was able to deliver in the clutch. He was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, to lead his team past the Minneapolis Freeze, 3-2. The win belonged to Ben Sylvester in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Mark Walsh took the loss for Minneapolis. Arthur Alderdice collected his 9th save.
Had Levine not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Levine hit a run-scoring single. The Bumblebees took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Levine.
The Bumblebees improved to 48-36.
