Kodiaks Prevail, 5-3, Over Peoria
|
The Peoria Caterpillars got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Hardy. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Calgary. The Kodiaks won the game, 5-3. In spite of the loss, Hardy was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Getting the save was Hiroshi Nagasawa, his 27th. The first-place Kodiaks have won 4 in a row.
One significant plate appearance for Calgary came with no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. Kodiaks left fielder Mike McAndrews drew a walk, which helped Calgary go on to win.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," McAndrews told reporters after the game.
