Wind Stymie Hendersonville, Take 4-0 Win
|
Waimea turned a fine outing from starter Julian Hill into a victory over the Hendersonville Hens at The Wind Tunnel. The final score was 4-0. Waimea has now reeled off 7 straight wins.
Jay Nolan had a big solo home run for the Wind in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Waimea leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Josh Messenger, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2062 draft, and punished it. The result was his 22nd home run of the season, which put the Wind on top, 2-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Nolan.
