Cacti Get One-Run Win at Vancouver
|
Albuquerque starter Bob King pitched effectively against the Vancouver Canadians at Stanley Park. The left-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. King, the winner, moves to 5-2. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 4 walks. Albuquerque has now won 3 in a row.
With runs few and far between, the Cacti had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Albuquerque came in the top of the second inning, when catcher Harry Rodriguez delivered a 2-run home run. The home run was hit off Robbie Lawrence and made the score 2-0, Cacti. Rodriguez went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
"I really like what we did out there today," Rodriguez said after the game.
