The Billings Mustangs topped the Antioch Coal Miners, 5-4, in TML AAA action at The Coal Mine. The standout performance belonged to Billings pitcher and Clovis, New Mexico, native Bobby Avila. The last-place Mustangs own a record of 24-54.
An inflection point occurred with two out in the top of the third. That's when Mustangs right fielder Matt Yardley hit a curveball from Francisco Santiago for a 2-run single. Just like that, Billings was up, 2-1.
Billings manager praised his team's "businesslike approach."
