Redbirds Get Road Win, 6-1
|
The 2043 season is getting ugly for Reno.
Candiac Redbirds starter Colt Idler kept the Reno Raiders hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-1 win. Idler picked up the win for Candiac, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1.
With runs few and far between, the Redbirds had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Candiac came in the top of the first inning, when designated hitter Manny Silva delivered a 3-run home run. The home run was hit off Sergio Aguilar and made the score 3-0, Redbirds. Silva went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We did a lot of things right," said Silva.
Even with the win, the Redbirds have a dismal 26-64 record.
