Walters Lifts Coal Miners to 19-7 Triumph
At The Carrier Dome, the Tallahassee Captains and Antioch Coal Miners were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Getting offensive support from Cody Walters, the Antioch Coal Miners topped the Tallahassee Captains, 19-7. Walters went 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 6 for the Coal Miners. The winning pitcher was Chris DeMott. He's now 1-1. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits for the Coal Miners.

With Antioch leading 16-5 in the top of the eighth, Walters batted against Tallahassee pitcher Yang-cheng Huang. Walters hit a sinker to right for a bases-clearing double. His 6th double of the season put the Coal Miners on top, 19-5.

"We got the victory," said Walters. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The Coal Miners, at 43-34, sit in second place in the TML AAA Cito Gaston League.
