The West Island Jazz thumped the Mexico City Luchadores, 9-1, at The Royal Grounds. Kenny Cox was a big reason his team got the win. Cox was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The loss drops Mexico City to 0-3.

With West Island leading 2-0 in the top of the sixth, Cox hit a fastball from Alberto Candelaria for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Jazz ahead, 6-0.

"Do what you're good at," said West Island manager Pedro Gonzáles. "That's all I ask of the team."
