Malik Combs, who is tied for 5th in the RCL in wins with 3, imposed his will on the Tornadoes from the get-go. Relying mainly on his curveball, the left-hander spearheaded the 5-1 El Paso triumph. The loss drops Kansas City to 11-15.

Carlos Ayala helped out the El Paso cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4.

El Paso manager Lorenzo Castillo called it "a pretty good win."
