Though he had a terrific game, Herberto Tonilhas could not prevent his team, the State College Swallowtails, from absorbing a loss. Waimea won the game, 5-4. Tonilhas was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Franco Lano, 6-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. Earning his 16th save for Waimea was Ben Nunley.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Riley Andrus? The 23-year old left fielder Andrus stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Waimea up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Both teams played hard," said Waimea manager Orlando González.

The 4th-place Wind now have a win-loss record of 39-37.
