The Reno Raiders called upon starter John Tait, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the State College Swallowtails, 4-0. Earning his 24th save for Reno was Don Townend. The Raiders improved to 42-43.

The Raiders got a big at-bat from first baseman Josh Henricks. For the game, Henricks was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Reno a 2-0 lead.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Tait. "Successful pitchers do it."
