Steve Thomas never let the Freeze get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Cats to a win, 4-1. Thomas picked up the win for Fort Worth, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. At 36-48, the Cats claim last place in the RCL AAA Bobby Cox Division.

Ben Overby provided a timely hit. The Fort Worth pinch hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cats on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"Steve kept his poise and got the job done," said Fort Worth manager Dudha Goli. "He was outstanding."
