Butterflies Toast Ramrods, 11-2
|
The rain did not keep Pennsylvania and Huntington Station from finishing their game.
Pennsylvania starter David Espinoza kept the Huntington Station offense in check, while his team rolled to a win, 11-2. Espinoza, now 2-1, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs.
Spencer Beddall had a big 2-run home run for the Butterflies in the top of the second inning. With Pennsylvania leading 3-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a sinker from Jason Sanders, who finished 4th in the RCL in ERA with 2.23 in 2058, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Butterflies on top, 5-0.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Beddall said (again).
The Ramrods, now 8-13 this season, have struggled to play .500 ball.
