Led by Harry Cronin, the Peoria Caterpillars defeated the Calgary Hitmen, 7-4. Cronin went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Caterpillars. Peoria reliever Kenny Gill was the winner. His record is now 5-0. The losing pitcher was Alex Duran. Jordan Curry was called on to finish, recording his 25th save.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Ryan Stagg was at the plate when Peoria scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Caterpillars to go in front, 5-4.

"I had a good game," said Cronin. "Winning makes it even better."

The loss makes Calgary 40-31.
