Fireballs Rack Up 6-0 Win Versus Albuquerque
|
Ramon Franco was nothing short of phenomenal for the Joplin Fireballs. The 22-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Albuquerque Cacti, 6-0. Franco picked up the win for Joplin, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 6-4. Joplin, now 36-47, holds down last place in the TML AAA Joe Torre Division.
Joplin used a well-timed hit by Matthew Kolenda to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Fireballs ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We didn't play well enough to win," Albuquerque skipper Randy Haynes said.
