The Calgary Kodiaks beat the Joplin Fireballs by a score of 4-1. Calgary left fielder Mark Faught deserved the lion's share of the credit. Faught was 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Kodiaks. The 4th-place Kodiaks go to 35-36.

Michael Klar helped out the Calgary cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.

"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Joplin skipper Daniel Petro. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
