Cats Deal Amarillo 12-5 Defeat
The Fort Worth Cats trumped the Amarillo Armadillos, 12-5, at LaGrave Field. Fort Worth designated hitter Ben Overby was terrific. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Larry Viola, who is tied for 5th in the RAAA in complete games with 2, was the winner. He's now 9-5. The loser was Mark Hartje. Fort Worth leads the RCL AAA Bobby Cox Division by 3 games.

Early in the game, third baseman Jimmy Eastes had a grand slam home run for Fort Worth. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Cats on top, 4-0.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Overby told the Fort Worth News.
