The Bowling Green Racers topped the Fairfield Flash, 8-3, in RCL AAA action at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The player of the game was Bowling Green pitcher and Zion, Illinois native Dave Pinkley. Pinkley got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Pinkley allowed 3 earned runs. The Racers raised their record to 35-49.

Bowling Green used the timely hitting of Doug Sanders to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Racers on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
