Riding the 2-hit performance of the 23-year old first baseman Mike Mathers, the Minneapolis Freeze stopped the Vancouver Canadians, 11-2. Frank Gallagher, credited with the win, is now 6-5. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 5.2 innings. Eddy Aguilar, credited with the save, is now 2 for 6 in save opportunities.

Travis Till had a big run-scoring single for the Freeze in the bottom of the second inning. With Minneapolis leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Dave Francisco and stroked the single to left. It was his 46th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Freeze ahead, 2-0.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Minneapolis skipper Jim Crawford.

The Freeze own a robust 54-26 mark.
