Swallowtails Come Up Short at Indianapolis, 4-3
|
The Indianapolis Ambition topped the State College Swallowtails, 4-3, in TML AAA action at Ken Griffey Jr. Plaza. The standout performance belonged to Indianapolis pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Mario Vasquez. David Lewis earned the save for Indianapolis, his 11th of the year. Today's win puts Indianapolis at 38-42, while State College falls to 39-42.
Nick Schroeder, who is tied for 5th in the TAAA with a .433 on-base percentage, helped out the Indianapolis cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," State College manager Afalku Coffie said, following the tough loss.
