Fairfield left fielder Matt Gibson had a good game, even if his team did not. The Flash dropped a 6-3 decision to Fort Worth at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Gibson was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. Nick Loyd closed the game out for Fort Worth, earning his 15th save. This win makes it 5 in a row for Fort Worth.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Cats pinch hitter Jake Tovrea hit a fastball from Dan Cortell for a 2-run single. Just like that, Fort Worth was up, 3-2.
