Both teams had their chances, but the Quebec Armada eventually prevailed.
Quebec designated hitter Phil Peters picked up 4 ribbies while helping his team beat back the West Island Jazz, 7-6. Pat Neumann earned the save, his 1st.
Jeff Roth, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2062 draft, took West Island hurler Adam Walsh deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Armada on top, 7-6. In all, Roth had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Roth told the Quebec Citizen. "You win just by scoring more runs."
The win has Quebec at 1-2.
