Jim Metcalfe, who is tied for 3rd in the TAAA in complete games with 3, was locked in. The right-hander led the Albany Firebirds to a 4-3 win against the Calgary Kodiaks at Foothills Stadium. Albany reliever Israel Sanchez snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tom Utley shouldered the loss. Josh Burdette picked up the save, his 18th.

Albany needed the clutch hitting of Will Dudley to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Firebirds on top, 4-3. For the game, Dudley had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Dudley told the Albany Daily.

Albany is 36-32 and Calgary, with the loss, 33-35.
