A good performance from catcher Matt Loss helped the Antioch Coal Miners defeat the Albany Firebirds, 7-5. Loss went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Coal Miners. Antioch goes to 45-23. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.

Freddie Carter, who leads the TAAA in total bases with 175, took Albany hurler Dusty Fitzsimmons deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Coal Miners on top, 3-2. In all, Carter had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.

In comments to the Antioch Today, Loss insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
