Sutton Slugs Aeropostales to 7-3 Win
|
The Indian Wells Aeropostales beat the Peoria Caterpillars, 7-3, at Stars Field. Indian Wells designated hitter Jesse Sutton earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Luis Salcido, who went 8.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 2-5. The Aeropostales improved to 42-36.
Indian Wells took a 4-3 lead on Sutton's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Dustin Stein in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Indian Wells to the win.
