Privateers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Minneapolis, 4-2
|
Memphis played host to Minneapolis at Privateers Grounds.
The Memphis Privateers picked up a win at Privateers Grounds, taking down the Minneapolis Freeze, 4-2. Starting pitcher Casey Etheredge was a big reason why. Memphis reliever Carlos Acevez picked up the win, while Joe Jungbauer took the loss for Minneapolis.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Luke Green came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Minneapolis pitcher Joe Jungbauer, he hit a 1-2 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Memphis on top, 3-2.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Etheredge.
The Privateers now have a record of 36-41 with the win over Minneapolis.
